Present; Bill Cochran town chairman, Brian Takala town supervisor present on speakerphone, Sandy Johnson town treasurer, Jed Keenan town supervisor, Jill Washkuhn town clerk. Town residents; Tim Gorsuch. 1.Verified legal postings done by clerk. A. Roll call Sandy Johnson, Bill Cochran, Brain Takala via phone, Jed Keenan, and Jill Washkuhn. B. Meeting called order at 7:01 pledge of allegiance was recited. 2.Review meeting materials. Agenda approved Motion to approve by Brian Takala, second by Jed Keenan, Motion carried. 3. Treasurer’s report; received checks from Walmart as a refund for checks. CDs are coming due. Motion to accept Treasurers report as stated made by Brian Takala second by Jed Keenan. Motion carried. 4.. Approval of town board meeting 4/15/25; some modifications to Correct item 7. E. To reflect discussion to appoint a town clerk. Motion by Brian Takala to add the correction to the minutes and accept it and second by Jed Keenan. 5.Public input: Tim Gorsuch Stated he had some concerns regarding widening Lee Rd. with his driveway. This will be discussed further in highway construction/maintenance. 6. Highway construction and maintenance report: the 10/30/24 quote for Lee Rd. shouldering work quote has been removed. First plan to fill low spots from filler from Tranus lake Rd, then add gravel. Discussion about removing trees in the area. There was also some resurfacing plant work plan for Brickman Lake Rd. as well as Lee Rd. And statewide completed patching. 7.Facilities report; Jed Keenan cleaned up town parks obtain supplies town hall discusses getting CO2 and smoke detectors as well as fire extinguishers at each exit. Both supervisors Brian Takala and Jed Keenan to obtain bids for pest removal for the town hall. Plan to obtain and install smoke detectors and CO2 monitors in town hall. Specific matters for Discussion and Action by Town Boad: A. Road Review completed on 5/4/2025 noticed that there are some missing signs. Bill Cochran discovered signs in the town hall basement and shed. Bill will contact Washburn County for erecting signs. Motion approved by Brian Takala the Second, by Jed Keenan all were in favor. B. Procedures for obtaining supplies discuss approved vendors in the area are L&M as well as Northern Lights Co-op. All town members can purchase supplies for the town hall, parks, or Township needs. A $75 spending cap has been put in place. Motion by Brian Takala and second by Bill Cochran, Motion carried. C. Spring cleanup event at Springbrook dump on May 16th through the 17th several town items needed to be discarded at the park and at the hall period found 2 old grills that need to get rid of from the park in old printer at town hall, an old computer tower at the town hall, a rusted roaster. As well as some things in the basement such as an old pressure washer broken, broken tiles, broken chairs, and old chairs, some old electric baseboard heaters were found. Bill Cochran intends to inquire at Roy scrap to see if there is any scrap metal that could be used or they will be tossed. Jed Keenan and Bill Cochran plan to obtain a dump trailer this Friday 5/16 and pick up dumped items along the roads of Stinnett Township. And bring them to the dump. Motion by Brian Takala second by Bill Cochran. E. The open book will be at the town hall on May 19th from 2:45 to 4:45. F. Board review will be held on May 27th 25 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the town hall. G Mowing at the town park and hall: Bill Cochran plans to obtain bids to town hall, park, and ballpark, the summer of 2025. Plan to create an advertisement and will present bids at the next town hall meeting. 8.Letters, calls, and correspondence; Obtain letters from the Washburn County Forest department regarding timber sales. Jill Washkuhn and Bill Cochran received calls from Tim regarding his concerns regarding Lee Rd. A. Reservations at Park; graduation party on May 28th, the family reunion on August 9th. B. Voting machines: Jill Washkuhn received a call from the clerk of Washburn County regarding the voting machines. Discussed the need for ICE machines as you can use a paper ballot in place in machine. This machine also has the capability of using headphones for voters who are visually impaired. Board members discuss some concerns they have regarding voting machines. Plan to discuss further at the next meeting. C. Post code red due to increased fire danger. D. May 21st WTA Spring workshop at cable for new officers. 9. Payment vouchers were approved checks were signed. 10. Next town hall meeting will be June 10th, 2025, at 7:00 PM at town hall. 11. Agenda for the next meeting will be bids for pest removal, cost of erecting signage along county roads, bids for lawn care, and voting machine requirements and needs. 12.
