July Townhall meeting at 7-8-2025 at 7 pm at STINNETT TOWN HALL Posted on 6/30/2025 at the Town Hall, Outback Bar, Tranus Lake RD, and the Website by Jill Washkuhn township clerk. AGENDA 1. Call Meeting to Order at 7:05 and roll Call those attending Brian Takala Supervisor- acting chair at this meeting, Jed Keenan Supervisor and Bill Cochran Chairman via phone due to illness. 2. Verification of Legal Posting Notice and Pledge of Allegiance 3. Approval of Agenda Motion to approve agenda made by Bill Cochran, 2nd by Jed Keenan. 4. Review of Treasurer’s Report motion to approve treasurers’ report made by Bill Cochran, 2nd by Jed Keenan. 5. Approval of Town Board Meeting Minutes for the June 10 town hall meeting motion made to approve minutes made by Jed Keenan 2nd by Bill Cochran. 6. Public Input: Brian Takala was made aware of a leak at the town park pavilion this past weekend. He has contacted Tom Crowely to recommend or make repairs to roof and recommend repair to pit toilet roof as well. Bill Cochran received a call from Jerry Wener regarding mowing BID, Jerry was concerned about the amount that was quoted and understood why the board choose another provider. Jerry will need to submit a bill for mowing that was completed earlier this year. Bill Cochran was made aware of Allide Waste will provide a 40 yard dumpster for one week, issues would be to secure dumpester would not be over filled as well as items dropped off that are not approved for dumpster. Bill Cochran was contacted by the Park Service to remove a tree at Stinett Landing however tree is question was on Park property. Oakridge Tree service will provide quotes for clearing roads, quoates were not available at time of meeting. 7. Highway Construction and Maintenance Report/signage: Bill Cochran has contacted Statewide to complete some repairs to Lee Road to prevent further road damage. 8. Facilities Report: Town pavilion and pit toilet roofs need repairs to fix leaks. Tom Crowely has been contacted. Jed Keenan installed gutters to townhall. 9. Specific Matters for Discussion and/or Action by the Town Board: Review use of Class B Weight limits on Town Roads after some discussion regarding keeping signage all year or only during road bans. Plan to keep road weight limits signs up through the year at Brickman Lake Road/HWY 63, Brickman Lake Road/ Bass Lake Township line, Little Hayward Road, Chippanazie road. Weight limit signs to be installed only during weight bans are: Elliot Road, Elliot/ Tranus Lake Road, Townline Road/E, and Hayward Road. Bill Cochran will contact Washburn County highway department to discuss removal, storage and spring install of signs. Motion made by Bill Cochran, 2nd by Jed Keenan. Discuss/approve Renew CD's- discussed CD length and percentage return, approved 9-month CD with Frandsen Bank and Trust at 3.39% APY. Discuss Issues for Washburn County Ambulance Service Meeting (7/16/25) Bill Cochran and Brian Takala plan to attend Washburn County Ambulance service meeting Pest Control Contract Quote for Town Hall/Park: Brian Takala spoke with TJ at Northwoods Pest Prevent, at $75.00 per month and one time set up fee of $80.00. Exterior and interior traps/baits will be deployed to control both mice and insects at town hall and park. Motion to hire Northwoods Pest Prevent made by Bill Cochran, 2nd by Jed Keenan. Fire Extinguishers/Smoke-CO Detectors for Town Hall/Park: Some discussion regarding installing fire/CO2 detectors as well as fire extinguishers Plan to obtain 4 fire extinguishers (3 at town hall/ 1 at Park) and place detectors at each floor of the hall. To maintain fire extinguishers, plan to use Protective Service to keep fire extinguishers in working order. Brian Takala and Jed Keenan plan to obtain CO2 and Fire detectors, and install. Motion made by Jed Keenan 2nd by Bill Cochran. Repair Options for Town Park Pit Toilet: Brian Takala to reach out to Tom Crowely to look into repairing both Pit toilet roof and Pavillion roof leak 10. Correspondence- Letters and Phone Calls Received Bill Cochran plans to contact Statewide to replace culvert under Tranus Lake Road Jed Keenan calls out to Pest Control businesses no calls back Brian Takala calls to manufacturer of pit toilet, no calls back a Reservations for Town Hall or Town Park/Upcoming: August 9th for family reunion.
