SUBJECT: SCHOOL BOARD ELECTION NOTICE
NOTICE OF SCHOOL BOARD ELECTION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that at an election to be held in the Hayward Community
School District on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, to fill two school board positions currently
held by Dr. Harry Malcolm and Shane Poppe. The term of office for school board
members is three years beginning on Monday, April 27, 2026 and expiring on April 22,
2029.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN, that a Campaign Finance Registration Statement and a
Declaration of Candidacy must be filed no later than 5:00 p.m., on Tuesday, January 6,
2026, in the office of the Superintendent of Schools, located at the District Office (10320
Greenwood Ln, Hayward WI 54843), stating that he/she is a qualified elector and desires
to run for the office of school board member.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN, that if a primary is necessary, the primary will be held
on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.

Meeting Minutes STINNETT TOWN MEETING10/14/2025

1. Call Meeting to Order at 7:01 pm, those in attendance Bill Cochran, Brian Takala via phone, Jed Keenan, Sandy Johnson, Linda Asp community member and Jill Washkuhn
2. Verification of Legal Posting Notice agenda posted on 10/13/2025 at the Town Hall, Outback Bar, Tranus Lake RD, and the Website by Jill Washkuhn township clerk.
 Pledge of Allegiance was recited
3. Agenda for this meeting reviewed motion to approve agenda made by Brian Takala 2nd by Jed Keenan, all approve
4. Treasurer’s Report reviewed motion to accept treasure report made by Brian Takala 2nd by Jed Keenan.
5. Review of Town Board Meeting Minutes from 9-9-25, motion made to accept minutes as presented made by Bill Cochran, 2nd by Briand all in favor

7. Highway Construction and Maintenance Report/signage
Chip seal was completed on Chippanazie  Rd. Chippanazie Lake Rd. and little Hayward Rd. Tree was clearing was completed on Lee Rd. Tree clearing was also started on Verne Rd. Chippanazie lake sign was ordered by Bill Cochran.
Jed Keenan and Bill Cochran cleared brush on Brickman Lake bridge. Brian Takala cleared debris and brush at town hall. Bill is working with WISLR to description of roads corrected.
Sandy Johnson reported Minong Sign placed on Sign post at the corner of Hwy 63 and County Road F. 
Discussed AFV and UTV trails, discussed the well-worn path from Little Hayward Road to railroad bridge next to hwy 63.  This path is not a legal UTV/ATV trail.   Sandy Johnson plans to contact Washburn County Sheriff to advise public regarding legal and illegal trails.
8. Facilities Report: Discussed solutions to the County Road M run off to the town hall.  Board members plan to look into possibilities.
 
9. Specific Matters for Discussion and/or Action by the Town Board:
*Park Pavilion and Pit Toilet Roof repair Tom Crowely has responded to Brian Takala with quote for repairs- plan to snare details at next board meeting.
*Town Hall Mailbox Spooner post office personal as recommended mail box placement near the flag pole at town hall- will review again in spring
*LRIP Entitlement money. LRIP Entitlement money. Discuss whether to use money on Brickman Lake Rd. or Lee Rd. for 2026 or 2027. Noted that Brickman Lake, Lee Rd. Elliot Rd. rice Rd. and Stinnett landing all meet the eligibility requirements to receive funding. At this time plan to complete plan and application to complete road construction from Lee Rd. to rail road tracks on Brickman Lake Rd. in 2026 and plan for Rd. reconstruction in 2027 for Lee Rd. as it meets eligibility.
 
*Snow plow contracts received and follow up. Discussed some concern over private drives versus driveway as well as commercial parking lots. As snow plow contracts arr for driveway plowing only. Plan to address at next town meeting the definition of a private road versus driveway.
 
 
*Budget hearing for 6:30 on 11/11/25 before town board meeting
 
10. Correspondence- Letters and Phone Calls Received
 Reservations for Town Hall or Town Park/Upcoming Meetings/Events/Miscellaneous:
WTA meeting and CTRIC meeting will be at Washburn County courthouse on 10/22/25.  CTRIC meeting to start at 5 pm with WTA meeting to start at 6 pm.
Bill Cochran received a call regarding snowplow contract from Larry stone.
Bill Cochran contacted the Hayward fire department. Fire officials plan to complete an inspection of town hall as well as recommendations where to place smoke detectors and fire extinguishers.
On September 28th 2025 Brian Takala and Bill Cochran received call from the Washburn County Sheriff department regarding a stray dog. Washburn County Sherif Department was advised that we do not have the equipment to take in stray dogs and it is up to law enforcement to transport strays to the pound.
Bill also talked to Mark Lea regarding a snow plow contract.  Contract is pending after inspection of property.
Bill Cochran received an email from Emergency management from Washburn County regarding the obligations of the Township regarding Emergency Management is noted that the Emergency Management advised in an town emergency to contact them as well as take pictures of accident/event and document as well as sign in volunteers.
 
 
Bill Cochran received a call from Jordan Erickson of Erickson Excavating he was working on a quote for a project on Chippanazie Lake Rd. Jordan was contacting Bill regarding use of road’s weight limits due to equipment that will be needed to complete major project.
11. Payment of Vouchers, Statements, and Bills reviewed.
12. Next Town Board Meeting November 11 at 7 pm at townhall.
13. Agenda items for next meeting:  Quote for pit toilet and pavilion roof repair,
Town Policy regarding private road vs driveway policy., Discuss election worker for upcoming year.

Acceptable Photo ID will be required to vote at this election. If you do not have a photo ID, you may obtain a free ID for voting from the Division of Motor Vehicles.
