Meeting Minutes June 10, 2025

​Agenda was posted on June 9 at townhall, Tranus Lake Road, Outback bar and town website by Jill Washkuhn, clerk.
Present Bill Cochran, town chairman, Brian Takala, supervisor, Jed Keenan, Supervisor, Sandy Johnson, Treasurer, and Jill Washkuhn, Clerk.

3.Meeting called to order at 7:00 pm
4.Pledge of allegiance recited
5.Approval of agenda motion by Brian Takala, 2nd by Bill Cochran.
6.Treasures report summited by Sandy Johnson, she will find out the CD rate for next meeting in July.  She receives road aide yesterday will update at next meeting.  Motion to approve by Brian Takala, 2nd by Bill Cochran.
7.Approval of the town board meeting minutes from May 12, 2025.  Some corrections to strike verbiage regarding shouldering Tranus Lake road and quote for signs to be erected.  Approve minutes with corrections motion to approve by Bill Cochran, 2nd by Briand Takala.
8.Public Input:  Brian Takala noticed a leak in the roof of the pit toilet at the town park; He plans to contact the manufacturer CXT to obtain recommendations to repair roof.
9.Public input:  Some calls and emails were received regarding when the spring cleanup, however these inquiries were too late.
10.Highway Construction and Maintenance report:  Tranus road was graded today 6-10-25. 
11.Some discussion about inspection of Brickman Lake Road bridge and recommendations by road inspector.  In the fall Bill Cochran, and Supervisors to complete brush cutting around the bridge.
12.Bill contacted Washburn County highway department, to erect signs on Nickle Road, Groat Road, Sugarbush Road and Chippanazie Lake Road.  Plan to repair Stanberry Road Sign during the time Brickman bridge clean up. 
13. Discussed need to review reflective signage.  Bill Cochran will contact Scott Construction regarding chip seal.  Discussed the need to keep weight limit signs up throughout the year.
14.Facilities report:  Jed Keenan plans to obtain cost and requirements for fire extinguishers for town hall.  He also plans to obtain cost for CO2 monitors and solar light for front door of hall.  Plan to present at next meeting. Jed Keenan plans to install gutters over the front door of hall as well as long the side of the hall.
Specific Matter for Discussion and/or Action by the Town Board
A. Pest control; Brian Takala contacted T/J for pest control of mice and bugs at the town hall.  He obtained a quote for 75.00 a month for traps, and repellants.  Jed also plans to obtain a quote for pest control.  Plan to make a fiscally responsible decision at next meeting. 
B. Lawn care Services; Sealed BIDs were opened at meeting:
Up North Lawn and Landscape: BID hall $50.00, town park $175.00, ball diamond $ 165.00.
Dwayne Peterson: BID Park/Hall $280.00.
Jerry Werner:  Hall $80.00, Park $300.00, Ball Park $350.00.
Reviewed BIDs- plan to hire Up North Lawn and Landscape.  Motion made by Brian Takala, 2nd by Jed Keenan, Bill Cochran plans to contact lawn service individuals.
C. Votion Machine:  Reviewed need to use voting machine as this is Federal requirements. ICE machine that Washburn County has recommended will use paper ballots.  For all of those who voted at the April general meeting thank you for your input. 
D. Clean up:  Jed Keenan and Bill Cochran cleaned out 2 trailer loads from the park, town hall and ditches in township, Bill Cochran may look into a possible fall cleanup day.
E. Townhall Cleaning:  Discussed monthly cleaning schedule. Discussed all board members to take a month to clean.  Plan to have Sandy Johnson and Jill Washkuhn to take turns to clean the hall.
F. Reviewed Liquor Licenses for Outback Bar and Pizza and Stanberry Rail Saloon, Licese approved.  Will complete background checks on bartenders.
16. Correspondence- Letters and Phone Calls Received
A. Reservation for Town Hall or Town Park:  August 9th family reunion.
B.  Upcoming Meeting/Events.
C. Miscellaneous.
17. Vouchers and for payment approved and checks signed.
18. Agenda items for next meeting:  Pest control, Fire extinguishers /CO2 monitor, repairing roof of Pit toilet at Park.
19. Next Town Board Meeting July 8, 2025 at 7:00 pm.
