APPROVED MINUTES STINNETT TOWN BOARD MEETING JANUARY 8, 2019 – TOWN HALL AGENDA WAS POSTED JANUARY 4, 2019 AT THE TOWN HALL, OUTBACK BAR, AND ON THE TOWN WEBSITE BY KATIE PARKS, CLERK. PRESENT: BILL GROAT CHAIRMAN; GARY ELLIOTT, SUPERVISOR; SANDY JOHNSON, TREASURER; DONALD PLANTE, SUPERVISOR, KATIE PARKS, CLERK.
1. VERIFICATION OF LEGAL POSTING DONE BY THE CLERK ROLL CALL: GROAT, ELLIOTT, JOHNSON, PARKS, PLANTE CHAIRMAN CALLED MEETING TO ORDER AT 7:03 PM PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE RECITED 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA - MOTION BY GARY ELLIOTT, 2ND DONALD PLANTE. MOTION CARRIED. 3. TREASURER’S REPORT SUBMITTED BY SANDY JOHNSON WAS REVIEWED – LARGE AMOUNT OF PROPERTY TAXES HAS ALREADY BEEN PROCESSED. 4. MINUTES FOR THE DECEMBER 11, 2018 TOWN BOARD MEETING APPROVED AS READ. 5. HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE REPORT: A. TOWN CHAIRMAN HAS ASKED STATEWIDE TO RESAND SOME ROADS AS THEY ARE TREACHEROUSLY STILL COVERED WITH ICE. 6. PUBLIC INPUT – HCCU WAS CONTACED IN REGARD TO THE DOCUMENTS THAT WERE THE PROPERTY OF THE TOWN OF STINNETT STILL IN POSSESSION OF BARB LOVE WHEN SHE VACATED HER HOUSE. THEY WERE REMOVED BY A PRIVATE COMPANY THAT HCCU HIRED AND SUBSEQUENTLY WERE DESTROYED AFTER THE FORECLOSURE. 7. SPECIFIC MATTERS FOR DISCUSSION AND ACTION BY THE TOWN BOARD: A. JANUARY 5TH CAUCUS RESULTS WERE AS FOLLOWS: BILL GROAT NOMINATED FOR CHAIRMAN, GARY ELLIOTT AND DONALD PLANTE WERE BOTH NOMINATED FOR SUPERVISORS; KATIE PARKS WAS NOMINATED FOR CLERK; AND SANDY JOHNSON WAS NOMINATED FOR TREASURER. NO OTHER NOMINATIONS WERE ENTERED INTO RECORD. THE RESULTS ARE BEING SENT TO THE COUNTY CLERK TO PREPARE BALLOTS FOR THE UPCOMING ELECTION IN APRIL. B. CN RAILROAD WILL BE WIRING THE FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $7,750 FOR THE DAMAGES TO SUGARBUSH RD DIRECTLY INTO THE TOWN’S CHECKING ACCOUNT. SHOULD BE POSTING SOON. C. DONATION REQUEST FROM HABITAT FOR HUMANITY WAS REVIEWED AND IT WAS THE BOARD’S CONSENSUS THAT IT SHOULD BE ADDED AS A REFERENDUM DURING ELECTION FOR THE TOWN’S TAX PAYERS TO DECIDE ON AS THERE ARE TO DATE NO PLANS TO BUILD HOMES IN OUR TOWN AND WE WOULD RECEIVE NO TAX BENEFITS FOR OUR RESIDENTS IF BUILT ELSEWHERE. 8. CORRESPONDENCE- LETTERS AND PHONE CALLS RECEIVED: A. TOWNHALL B. MEETINGS – WTA DISTRICT MEETING – CABLE WI - FEB 15TH C. NW WIS FLOOD IMPACT STUDY MEETING –SHELL LAKE, WI - JAN 24TH D. MISCELLANEOUS – 1) MRS. LEDBETER HAS REQUESTED INFORMATION AS TO WHEN LAWRENCE SERVED AS SUPERVISOR (1983-1990) THEN AS CHAIRMAN (1990-2005)FORWARDED THE INFO TO HER. 2) GARY ELLIOTT WILL SERVE AS FILL-IN CHAIRMAN FOR NEXT MONTH’S MEETING AS CHAIRMAN GROAT IS OUT OF TOWN.
