Approved Minutes Stinnett Town Board Meeting May 14, 2019 - Town Hall AGENDA WAS POSTED MAY 10, 2019 AT THE TOWN HALL, OUTBACK BAR, AND ON THE TOWN WEBSITE BY KATIE PARKS, CLERK. PRESENT: BILL GROAT, CHAIRMAN; GARY ELLIOTT, SUPERVISOR; SANDY JOHNSON, TREASURER; DONALD PLANTE, SUPERVISOR; KATIE PARKS, CLERK.
1. VERIFICATION OF LEGAL POSTING DONE BY THE CLERK ROLL CALL: GROAT, ELLIOTT, JOHNSON, PARKS, PLANTE CHAIRMAN CALLED MEETING TO ORDER AT 7:00 PM PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE RECITED 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA - MOTION BY GARY ELLIOTT, DONALD PLANTE 2ND, and MOTION CARRIED. 3. TREASURER’S REPORT SUBMITTED BY SANDY JOHNSON WAS REVIEWED – RECEIVED INTEREST FROM CD’S. MUCH BETTER RETURN THAN A STANDARD SAVINGS ACCOUNT HAD GIVEN US. 4. MINUTES FOR THE APRIL 16, 2019 TOWN BOARD MEETING APPROVED AS READ. 5. HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE REPORT: A. HAYWARD RD HAS A FOOT OF WATER AGAIN. DOT INSPECTOR CAME OUT AND SUGGESTED BUILDING UP THE ROAD. ALSO BEAVERS ARE BUILDING DAMS IN CULVERTS CAUSING WATER TO COME OVER THE ROAD. EXCAVATOR WILL BE DIGGING AN AREA IN THE ROAD TO SEE IF IT FILLS WITH WATER. IF IT DOES WE HAVE A MORE SERIOUS PROBLEM THAN WE THOUGHT. ROAD CLOSED SIGNS ARE UP, BUT SOME ARE PUSHING THEIR LUCK GOING THROUGH. POSTED NOTICES TO STAY OFF THE ROAD AND FIND AN ALTERNATE ROUTE. 6. PUBLIC INPUT 7. SPECIFIC MATTERS FOR DISCUSSION AND ACTION BY THE TOWN BOARD: A. STILL CHECKING FOR AN LP TANK TO PURCHASE. WILL TABLE DISCUSSION UNTIL NEXT MEETING. B. ROAD REVIEW – SATURDAY MAY 18TH @ 8:00 AM, MEET AT THE TOWN HALL. C. BEAVERS BUILDING DAMS IN CULVERTS CAUSING ROAD HAZARDS. SCOTT ASP WILL TRAP AND REMOVE THEM FOR $20.00 PER NUISANCE BEAVER. MOTION TO APPROVE BY GARY ELLIOTT, 2ND DON PLANTE. MOTION CARRIED. D. NORTHWOODS AMBULANCE MEETING – THEY WANT TO RAISE THE RATES TO CONSTRUCT A NEW LARGER BUILDING. IT WAS SUGGESTED 5% INCREASE EACH YEAR FOR FIVE YEARS TO HELP COVER THE COST. THEY WILL BE FORMING A COMMITTEE TO DETERMINE THE COST IN THE AREAS OF SERVICE AND HOW TO COVER THOSE AREAS. E. CLEAN-UP DAY WENT WELL. 34 RESIDENTS DROPPED OFF ITEMS, A FEW CAME BACK SEVERAL TIMES. WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A FEW MORE VOLUNTEERS NEXT YEAR. FILLED 2 ½ LARGE DUMPSTERS. F. THE HOURLY PAY FOR ELECTION INSPECTORS WAS DISCUSSED. THEY ALL VOLUNTEER AND HAVE A LONG 12+ HOUR DAY ON ELECTION DAY. MOTION MADE TO RAISE ELECTION INSPECTORS PAY TO $13.00/HOUR AND CHIEF INSPECTOR TO $15.00/HOUR AN INCREASE OF $5.00/HOUR FOR ALL WAS MADE BY GARY ELLIOTT, 2ND DONALD PLANTE. MOTION CARRIED. CLERK WILL NOTIFY THEM ALL. 8. CORRESPONDENCE- LETTERS AND PHONE CALLS RECEIVED: A. TOWNHALL – WISCONSIN FLAG RECEIVED WILL DECIDE WHERE TO DISPLAY IT NEXT MONTH. B. TOWN PARK - RESERVED BY DIANA LEE FOR SATURDAY, JUNE 8TH C. MEETINGS - BOARD OF REVIEW AT THE TOWN HALL MAY 23RD FROM 5:00 – 7:00 PM D. MISCELLANEOUS – 1) TOWN WEBSITE WILL BE UPGRADED THIS MONTH AND SHOULD BE READY IN JUNE. SITE ADDRESS WILL REMAIN www.townofstinnett.com 2) LAST MONTH’S DISCUSSION ON COLLECTING PAST DUE PERSONAL PROPERTY TAX TO THE TOWN WILL BE FURTHER CHECKED INTO AND ACTION WILL BE UPDATED AFTER MORE INFORMATION IS COLLECTED. 9.
