AFTER TALKING WITH THE CONTRACTOR WHO SAID IT WOULD BE $2,000 MORE THAN ORIGINALLY ESTIMATED DUE TO SIGNIFICANT HAND WORK, OUR HAIRMAN TOLD HIM THE ADDITIONAL COST WAS FINE AND TO GO AHEAD WITH THE WORK. B) SHOULDERING COST NOT YET RECEIVED FROM STATEWIDE. 6. PUBLIC INPUT – A HEADS-UP FROM LINDA ASP REGARDING CLEAN-UP DAY - THE TOWN OF GULL LAKE CHANGED THEIR REQUIREMENT (LIKE WE DID) FROM RESIDENTS TO PROPERTY OWNERS IN GENERAL SO THEY CAN CLEAN UP THINGS ON THEIR PROPERTY AS WELL EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE NOT REALLY A “RESIDENT” PER SE. 7. SPECIFIC MATTERS FOR DISCUSSION AND ACTION BY THE TOWN BOARD: A. CLEAN-UP DAY AT ROY’S IN HAYWARD WAS NOT AS BUSY AS LAST YEAR. ONLY 17 RESIDENTS DROPPED OFF THINGS. WOULD LIKE TO FIND A WAY TO GET DUMPSTER SERVICE AT THE TOWN PARKING LOT AGAIN. WILL CHECK INTO IT BEFORE NEXT YEAR. B. REZONE APPLICATION AND CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR SLATER’S EVENT CENTER WAS RECEIVED FROM THE COUNTY FOR OUR BOARD’S RECOMMENDATIONS AND THEY AGREED ON SEVERAL RESTRICTIONS. A MOTION WAS MADE BY BILL COCHRAN TO SUBMIT THEIR REQUIREMENTS TO THE ZONING DEPARTMENT AT THE COUNTY, AND GARY ELLIOTT 2ND THE MOTION. THE APPLICATIONS WERE SIGNED AND WILL BE SENT BACK FOR THE COUNTY’S FINAL DECISION AT THEIR NEXT SESSION. C. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Review for the Town of Stinnett of Washburn County, Wisconsin shall hold its first meeting on the 28th day of May 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Stinnett Town Hall, N10361 County Hwy M, Village of Stanberry. Please be advised of the following requirements to appear before the Board of Review and procedural requirements if appearing before the Board: No person shall be allowed to appear before the Board of Review, to testify to the Board by telephone or to contest the amount of any assessment of real or personal property if the person has refused a reasonable written request by certified mail of the Assessor to view such property. After the first meeting of the Board of Review and before the Board’s final adjournment, no person who is scheduled to appear before the Board of Review may contact, or provide information to a member of the Board about the person’s objection except at a session of the Board. No person may appear before the Board of Review, testify to the Board by telephone or contest the amount of the assessment unless, at least 48 hours before the first meeting of the board or at least 48 hours before the objection is heard if the objection is allowed because the person has granted a waiver of the 48-hour notice of an intent to file a written objection by appearing before the Board during the first two hours of the meeting and showing good cause for failure to meet the 48-hour notice requirement and files a written objection, that the person provides to the clerk of the Board of Review notice as to whether the person will ask for removal of any Board members and, if so, which member will be removed and the person’s reasonable estimate of the length of time that the hearing will take. When appearing before the Board of Review, the person shall specify, in writing, the person’s estimate of the value of the land and of the improvements that are the subject of the person’s objection and specify the information that the person used to arrive at that estimate. No person may appear before the Board of Review, testify to the Board by telephone or object to a valuation; if that valuation was made by the Assessor or the Objector using the income method of valuation; unless the person supplies the Assessor all the information about income and expenses, as specified in the Assessor’s manual under Sec 73.03 (2a) of Wis. Statutes, that the Assessor requests. The Town of Stinnett has an ordinance for the confidentiality of information about income and expenses that is provided to the Assessor under this paragraph which provides exceptions for persons using information in the discharge of duties imposed by law or the duties of their office or by order of a court. The information that is provided under this paragraph, unless a court determined that it is inaccurate, is not subject to the right of inspection and copying under Sec. 19.35 (1) of Wis. Statutes. The Board shall hear upon oath, by telephone, all ill or disabled persons who present to the Board a letter from a physician, surgeon or osteopath that confirms their illness or disability. Due to the unseasonably warm weather and pursuant to Wisconsin Statutes 349.16, Washburn County seasonal road bans will go into effect Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Noon. Notice will be posted on the Washburn County Highway Department website at www.co.washburn.wi.us, department listings (Highway) sent to local newspapers and are available by calling the Highway Department at 715-635-4480. Please contact Townships directly for travelling on their town roads. 2024 WEIGHT LIMITS FOR WASHBURN COUNTY ROADS The following Washburn County Roads are posted at: 6 ton maximum for single axle 10 ton maximum for two axles under 8 feet apart CTH “BB”: from CTH “B” to Sawyer County line CTH “E”: from Hwy 63 south & west to CTH “M” CTH “F”: from STH 63 west to Swanson Rd “F”: from STH 53 west to CTH “K” “F”: (loop) – from CTH “K” to STH 77 CTH “M”: from STH 70 north to STH 63 “M”: from Stanberry RD to STH 77 CTH “N”: from CTH “A” to CTH “E” CTH “P”: from CTH “B” to CTH “D” Highway maintenance vehicles, school buses, emergency public utility vehicles, and vehicles hauling bulk milk products are exempt from seasonal weight limitations on Washburn County trunk highways. Propane haulers are exempt from any seasonal limitations if the tank is filled to no more than 50% of its capacity and the gross vehicle weight doesn’t exceed 30,000 pounds single rear axle or 40,000 pounds tandem rear axle.
